Water, both for humans and for all other living things on the planet, is a resource without which life would not be possible. We cannot express in words what the planet would look like it there was no water, and this drawing shows in small lines the beauty existing on Earth. Because of water, and also how a "drop" of water can save many lives, although people remain expressionless in front of the gifts that water continues to give to the earth. The drop of water around our planet present in the drawing represents the protection and care that water offers us, surrounding the earth as a kind of protective layer, which does not let the earth perish with the passage of time. Fir trees suggest the true beauty of nature, which is vividly colored in shades of green, a special beauty that could not be present if water did not help nature. The tap presents a source of water that feeds all the gifts of nature and not just human needs, being a "spring" interprted in the form of power source present in the homes of all people, highlighting the fact that life on Earth exists because of water, because water is the source of life, and a a drop of water can make the difference between life and death.

Two young girls boarded a boat sailing along the Yangtze River, preparing to search for the critically endangered Chinese sturgeon and baiji dolphin. During their search, they unexpectedly found a lot of garbage in the river, which was turbid. They did not find any cChinese sturgeon or baiji dolphin, and almost all other types of fish had disappeared. There are two Chinese sturgeons and whitefin dophins made of garbage in the picture, warning people that if water resources are not well protected, these endangered species will truly become extinct. Let's work together to protect water resources and biodiversity.

Precious Wonders Of Fresh Water

Fresh water is a renewable and variable but finite natural resource. Without 'Fresh Water', life on Earth would be impossible. All kinds of living beings depend on freshwater for their survival. In this painting of mine, I have represented how freshwater is consumed by different species of living beings on a daily basis. In the upper middle portion of the page, I painted a waterfall which is one of the main sources of freshwater. The water from the waterfall is collected by a pair of hands which represents that freshwater should be stored and used. In the lower middle portion of the page, I painted a sprinkler which is showering freshwater on a green field for the purpose of irrigation. Irrigation is the most important part of agriculture. Without fresh water, plants and crops cannot survive. On the right side of the page, I painted a kid drinking water from a tap with a scenery of the sunset behind. This shows that at the end of the day, freshwater is the only path of existence for human beings. Besides human beings and plants, freshwater is also essential for survival of many living creatures like fish, ducks and swans. This I showed on the left side of the page by painting swans swimming on a freshwater lake. The ultimate reason behind the beauty of Mother Earth is freshwater. Without freshwater, Earth won't look different from other life-less planets.

My drawing, entitled LOOKING FOR... MOM, suggests the negative effects that pets and pollution have on water and all the creatures that live in it. The title jellyfish is looking for its mother, but unfortunately mistook it for a plastic bag. That's why it's important for human beings to appreciate and protect our water. We need to be careful on how we use it and try not to waste it. And we need to act in order to protect our water sources from pollution and other threats.

The project takes origin from the observation of our rural areas with their colours and shapes, in particular the Miranese one, especially those nearby a river or a canal (for example the Marzenego river or the Canale Taglio), and from the analysis and in-depth study of freshwater fauna. As far as fish is concerned, we have considered the difference between alien species, such as the catfish and the rainbow trout, and native species like the bleak, the carp and the brown trout. With regard to birds, special attention has been put on the kingfisher, the grey heron and the mallard. All these things have offered our students the opportunity to create a plastic model representing water, the surrounding areas, and some well-known fauna species living in the territory. It has been realized with the putty Das, coloured with tempera paints and a protective glossy spray paint. Finally, each part has been pasted on a wooden support like a puzzle.

The magical river catfish is a special fish that lives in Slovenian rivers. His body is green and blue so it could easily blend in and hide from other predators. It has one big fin and two smaller ones along with one big tail. All those fins and the tail helps him to swim faster, especially in stronger river flows. His sharp teeth help him to look scarier and scares away anyone who dares to pollute our waters. Even though he looks very similar to normal catfish, he has a very special task. He keeps our rivers clean. He heads all the garbage and all harmful things that gets thrown into the rivers. His gills filters the water so it's always fresh and clean.

On our poster we present the River Sava as we want it. The river flows past our school. We want it clean, without roads, railways, and hydroelectric power plant. We want better conditions for the turtles, living in one of the river's streams. The students want footpaths and wooden bridges over the River Sava and untouched nature – animals and plants they can observe. They would like to play with small wooden mills in the stream and revive the old Korens' mill. Above all there is a desire to preserve natural beauty for future generations.

Made from mixed materials, my work conveys that the damaged and dried up river has been revitalized after regulating and protecting measures, and the endangered finless porpoises are slowly recovering their population. The work calls for everyone to pay attention to the protection and regulation of water resources, and the role of water resources in biodiversity. The breakers and waves in the work are decorated with kyanite, which implies that water is as much precious as gems to human beings. The messy part on the left of the work is not only dead trees but also industrial wastes that seriously pollute water resources. It also reminds people about the harm of neglecting water resources, and appeals for protecting and valuing water resources.

So this painting warns people to save water, and we must turn off the tap after washing hands! Besides, we can use vegetable-washing water to flush the toilet, water plants and so on. Morning at the East Kolkata Wetlands starts at the crack of dawn. The main livelihood of people in wetlands remains fishing. The men set out early at dawn to catch fish and take it to the city market to sell. Apart from this, people from this locality are engaged in various jobs like animal husbandry, farming, etc. Women from the locality sell neem leaves, taro, and other leafy greens to the city market. This improves their household income, and city dwellers benefit from it as well. City dwellers enjoy delicious meals only if the fishermen set out early to catch the fish. However, the depletion of wetlands will cause financial loss to these hardworking people, leading to unemployment, and hence will also be deprived of natural delicacies.

Climate change is a major driver of biodiversity erosion, and loss of biodiversity also accelerates climate change processes, as the capacity of degraded ecosystems to assimilate and store CO2 tends to decrease. Humanity therefore has a global responsibility to address these two challenges and the interactions between them. Ecosystem services and Nature-Based solutions, which depend on a healthy biodiversity, make essential contributions to climate change mitigation and adaptation, and are effective vehicles for transformational change. Culture directly influences how the values of water are perceived, derived and used. Therefore, the perception of the values attributed to water and its related benefits can be highly subjective. For any values, it is extremely important to understand the cultural background under which they arise and how culture influences how they are used. The values of water to human well-being extend well beyond its role in supporting lifesustaining functions, and include mental health, spiritual well-being, emotional balance and happiness. For example, water in landscapes has aesthetic values that contribute to mental health. Unsurprisingly, life satisfaction and happiness depend to a great extent on water: water can appeal
to people for spiritual reasons, or through scenic beauty, because of its importance for wildlife or recreation, among others. Water plays an important role also across faith-based traditions worldwide, symbolizing elements as diverse as life, purity, renewal and reconciliation, but also chaos and destruction. In some, water is seen as a gift for humans to care for, whilst others embrace a view that accentuates water's importance for the environment and wildlife. The connection between water and place, often categorized as 'relational values', can be strong in many indigenous cultures. Water is also a contributing factor to conflict, as a source of contention but a spirit of dialogue helps to transform water-related conflicts into cooperation. Water, therefore, can at times act as a conflict indicator, and/or as a connector to support conflict resolution and peacebuilding.
Through my painting I've tried my best to portray how water is often also a prominent component of heritage values, by both tangible and intangible benefits. These values can be problematic to compare with values derived through other formal means, such as economics, and are therefore often excluded from value assessments that favour those.

In the green world, water drops help animals, help trees and grass to grow better. They help the rainbow to appear. They help people to be healthy and joyful. We need to keep water for the proper supply of water for the future generations. Let's save life on our planet!
